The F.O.G. method

Find the Friction.
Optimize. Grow.

Growth means work that is more effective, efficient, and reliable. It can also mean time and money saved, and the ability to take on something new.

    Find the Friction

Start with what people are trying to achieve. Find what slows them down, makes results less reliable, or keeps better work out of reach.

  2. 02

    Optimize

Improve the steps first. Then recommend the right mix of process changes, useful tools, automations, and AI assistance to make the work more effective and reliable.

  3. 03

    Grow

Put the change to work. See what it returns in income, savings, and time—then use that advantage to pursue new opportunities, build capability, and enjoy the work more.

What would fewer steps make possible?

For business01

What is holding your business back?

When work takes too many steps or results vary, the cost shows up in time, money, and opportunities you cannot take on. I help find the cause, improve the process, and use AI where it helps you deliver reliable quality and grow without adding the same overhead.

For you02

Build skills that stay with you.

Start with a live class built around one real task. Learn to improve the steps and use AI where it helps. Keep building with monthly practice or local hands-on help.

For business

Start with one problem.
Build a plan for more.

Bring one place where work is slower or less reliable than it should be. We find one constraint in a free 15-minute conversation, and I return with one practical recommendation. If you need the wider view, the paid business assessment gives you a ranked plan to reduce costs, improve quality, and build capacity for growth.

Your guide

Hi, I’m Chris.

I’ve spent 30 years in engineering and product development. I started in aerospace with turbofan jet engines, then moved to automotive, designing heavy-truck chassis and suspension systems. For the past 15 years, I’ve led innovation, product development and testing work in Hamilton–Niagara. I’ve brought together teams of up to 18 people, including in-house staff and outside suppliers.

That work taught me to follow a process step by step, listen to the people doing it, and find the change that actually helps. I bring the same approach to businesses and households through Fewer Steps.

I use AI where it makes work more useful or reliable. Sometimes a simpler process is the better answer. I don’t resell software or take commissions.
